Bhorukas to sponsor Lakshya-backed shooter Shriyanka Sadangi

Pune, August 17, 2012: Lakshya, a not-for-profit organisation that identifies and nurtures sporting talent in the country, and Logistics and transport solution company Bhorukas Logistics (P) Limited have joined hands to support upcoming shooter Shriyanka Sadangi in her mission to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Seventeen-year-old Shriyanka, who competes in 10m air rifle event, has been a consistent performer in the junior circuit for the past two years and recently won the Junior International Shooting competition in Suhl, Germany with a score of 500.9, which was better than the fourth spot finish in the just concluded London Olympics.

According to the arrangement, Bhorukas would provide financial support to Shriyanka for her training, equipment and other needs for the next one year, Said, Kunal Agarwal, Director of Bhorukas Logistics (P) Limited, “Bhorukas has always believed in excellence and Shriyanka embodies the same spirit in her. I feel she has the potential to represent India at the 2016 Games and it is our pleasure to support her cause through Lakshya.”

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshya secretary Swastik Sirsikar exuded confidence that the relationship would be a long term one. “Bhorukas has been supporting many social causes and it is our privilege that they have now been associated with us. We are sure that the association will be a long term one.”

Shriyanka, who trains at the Lakshya supported Gun for Flory Academy, thanked Lakshya and Bhorukas for extending support in her endeavour to achieve Olympic glory and said she would do her best to live up to the expectations of her family, sponsors and the country.
